TT-2 and TT-2 Pro 4 Trimmer Rack instructions.
Use and installation instructions. IMPORTANT MUST READ !!!

Care must be taken when selecting a trailer mounting location so as to provide clearance for the pulling vehicle when in a tight turn (jack knife) so nothing is damaged. Mounting the rack on the curb side of the trailer is generally safer. IMPORTANT: When facing the rack, TrimmerTrap stickers visible, the upright with the sliding mechanism and ball knob, (right side) MUST be mounted to the RIGHT of the fixed position upright (left side). The trimmer handle, not the shaft should be installed in the right side upright. (See photo in brochure). The left side upright should support the trimmer head end of the trimmers as close to the end of the trimmer shaft as possible. ( Usually near, but slightly above the shield ) IT IS THE USERS SOLE RESPONSIBILITY TO ASSURE THE RACK IS INSTALLED SAFELY AND SECURELY TO ADEQUATELY SUPPORT THE RACK AND TRIMMERS AND THAT TRIMMERS ARE PROPERLY PLACED IN THE RACK.

STEP 1: The spring loaded latch supplied with your rack MUST BE installed before use. IMPORTANT, before installation of the latch into the rack: While tightly holding the latch pin using locking pliers securely tighten the ball knob onto the pin to prevent loss. Next, screw the latch assembly into the threaded barrel on the sliding mechanism of the right side upright. Securely tighten. Failure to do this WILL lead to loss of knob NOTE: The threaded collar on the latch has a locking compound pre-applied to the threads to prevent the latch from loosening. The locking compound will fully cure 24 hours after assembly. Make certain the latch functions smoothly and fully engages when latched. Lubricate latch and slide regularly. Install the extension spring by looping each end around one of the two rivets protruding from the rear of the right side upright. The spring will keep constant "down" tension on the sliding mechanism.

STEP 2 OPEN TRAILERS: After choosing the mounting location and determining the distance between the uprights (generally around 40 inches) temporarily clamp the uprights in place. Check again for clearance and to be certain you have chosen the most desirable location. NOTE: Extra length has been built into the bottom of each upright to facilitate mounting on trailers with high side rails. If the extra length is not needed for clearance between the top trailer rail and the bottom side of the bottom trimmer, you can cut off a short section of the bottom of each upright to lower the height of the rack and top trimmer. Each upright must be attached using two of the ½" bolts, washers and lock nuts provided or the equivalent. The upper and lower mounting holes on each upright must be at least 10 inches apart. Make certain when drilling the uprights that the holes are centered in the upright from left to right. The washers should be installed on the trimmer rack side of the bolts. Tighten all nuts and bolts securely and check regularly. ENCLOSED TRAILER MOUNTING For model numbers ET/TT-2 Trimmer Racks with factory installed brackets. Both brackets on each upright have two holes for attachment to truck or trailer walls. Be certain that the attachment points are sufficiently strong enough to support the rack and trimmers. The trailer wall vertical supports are usually ideal for this purpose. Of course, there are many types and different brands of trucks and trailers. If the vertical supports are not spaced appropriately and the wall is not lined with a heavy enough material for direct attachment to the wall we offer the following suggestions. Attach both upper brackets of each upright to a 2 by 4 or similar board or piece of metal which can be cut to length to horizontally span several of the vertical supports in the wall and be attached accordingly. Do the same for both bottom brackets on each upright. You could also use a single piece of plywood or metal approx. 48" by 48" to attach the rack to. You can then attach this "back plate" anywhere desired in the trailer and easily move it later, if desired. Be sure to leave enough clearance at the top of the rack to install the top trimmer.

STEP 3: THE PROTECTIVE RUBBER CAPS INCLUDED WITH THE TRIMMER RACK MUST BE PROPERLY INSTALLED AND MAINTAINED TO PROTECT TRIMMERS. Three different lengths are included. The shortest length caps ( 2&1/4" long ) must be installed on each of the straight studs above the "U" shaped hooks on both uprights. The middle length caps ( 4&1/2" long ) must be installed on each of the "U" shaped hooks on the RIGHT SIDE (slide side) upright where the trimmer handles rest. (NOTE: Because of certain trimmers with very soft rubber handles that wear quickly, TrimmerTrap has available an optional handle rest kit that replaces the rubber caps and will help protect these handles. Contact your point of purchase for information. The longest caps ( 5&1/2" long ) must be installed on each of the "U" shaped hooks on the LEFT SIDE upright where the trimmer shaft rest. Be certain all the caps are slid completely on. When properly installed there should be no metal to metal contact. HINT: Hair spray can be used as a lubricant to aid installation and will act as an adhesive to hold the caps in place after drying. To install a trimmer in the rack : While holding the trimmer as you normally do during use, first place the shaft on the" trimmer head" end of the trimmer into the hook on the left side upright. The trimmer will need to be at an angle approx. 45 degrees from the rack (normally one or two steps back) next, while holding the trimmer with the power head end down slightly, step forward (towards the rack) with the trimmer and raise the spring loaded slide by pulling out on the ball knob and lifting. Install trimmer handle into the corresponding hook on the right side and lower the slide. The latch will automatically engage and the trimmers will be clamped in place. With a little practice, this should take no more than two or three seconds! Trimmer racks which are properly installed, maintained and used for the purpose which they were designed will protect and prevent damage to trimmers. TrimmerTrap, Inc. will not in any way be responsible for wear or damage to trimmers. A padlock can be installed in the corresponding holes on the upper right side of the right upright to prevent the slide from raising, thus helping prevent theft. The TT-2 Rack is protected under United States patent # 5647489.

Instructions for installing the ET/TT-2 or ET/TT-2 Pro 4

If vertical supports in the wall can not be utilized to provide a strong mounting point because of their spacing the brackets can be attached to two horizontal pieces such as a 2 by 4 or other material that is long enough to span the vertical wall supports. A "sheet" of plywood or similar material can also be used to mount the entire rack and be positioned in the desired location. If the rack is to be "hung" as mentioned above the bottoms of each upright can be cut off (shortened) because the bottom portion is not needed. Another method is to set the uprights on the floor and then attach in place. This way the weight is supported on the floor instead of the wall. However some floor space will be lost. SEE ILLISTRATIONS BELOW.
