Questions & Answers
Most frequently asked questions?
These are brief answers to our most frequently asked questions, for more information please refer to our website or brochure. Do you sell direct to end users? TrimmerTrap products are available through an extensive network of dealers located throughout the US and Canada. Please contact us for a dealer near you. Do you have any new products? The TrimmerTrap website is constantly updated. Visit our website often for new products. Will your products mount to my trailer with high sides? For attaching racks to trailers with side rails taller than approximately 16 inches, we offer vertical post extensions part # PT-1. How does the Grounds Trooper line differ from the TrimmerTrap line? Grounds Trooper products are made in the US with high quality materials and components. This less expensive line offers fewer features that are more economical for small contractors and semi-pros. Do your products come in any other color than red? All TrimmerTrap products which are red in color feature a high quality powder coat finish and are available in red only. Other finishes on our products include zinc chromate plating (gold color) and e-coat finishes such as on the sulkies. Do you have a gas can holder? Due to the varied and ever changing federal and state D.O.T. regulations we do not offer a product designed to hold fuel cans. Why aren’t the mounting holes already drilled in my rack? Numerous trailer designs, manufacturing methods and dimensions require different hole spacing for attachment of our products. It is therefore unpractical to incorporate the mounting holes. Will your products work in an enclosed trailer? Many TrimmerTrap products are suitable for both open and enclosed trailers. We also offer an extensive line of products designed specifically for enclosed trailers and trucks. How far apart should I mount the two Trimmer Rack uprights? This dimension is determined by the shortest trimmer to be stored in the rack. The uprights should be positioned as far apart as possible in order to provide the greatest support for the (trimmer head) end of the trimmers. Why doesn’t the TT-2 Trimmer Rack “latch” in the raised position? The TT-2 Trimmer Rack is fool proof due to the spring loaded slide that automatically lowers and latches in the closed position. If the TT-2 is latched in the raised position it could possibly result in the loss of trimmers. What is the difference between the Bull Rider and Bronco Rider? The Bronco Rider is what we call a “trail behind” sulky. It is pulled behind the mower similar to a trailer being pulled by a truck. The Bull Rider is what we call a “fixed position” sulky. It remains in a fixed position relative to the mower so that the operator stays centered behind the mowers controls at all times. Do the sulkies leave extra tire tracks? The wheels on both sulkies follow the drive wheel tracks on most mowers on the market without leaving an extra track. Are the sulky tires solid? Both sulkies use pneumatic tires. The Bull Rider tire is tubeless which allows for quick repairs with a plug. The Bronco Rider tire is a tube type “go kart tire” which practically eliminates flats. Will the Blade Blocker work on stand-on mowers? The Blade Blocker Rider installs on most stand-on mowers requiring the operator to reach out just a bit further to operate. Will the Blade Blocker fit on my mower? There are two versions of the Blade Blocker, a rider version and a walk behind version. Mower specific models are not required due to the unique designs. What is the discharge baffle on the Blade Blocker made of? The baffle is a UHMW HDPE (ultra high molecular weight high density polyethylene) material which is practically indestructible, yet can easily be cut and sized to fit your opening. This unique material can also be heat formed using a heat gun to provide a custom fit for your mower. Does the Blade Blocker open all the way up? The Blade Blocker was designed to operate in conjunction with your discharge shield and should only be opened flush with the discharge chute, however for transport purposes the shield can be raised to a fully vertical position. Can I use the MR-1 for transporting trimmers on my trailer? The MR-1 is designed for transporting trimmers on off-road vehicles such as mowers and utility vehicles in addition to being used for servicing your trimmers. It is not to be used for over the road transport of trimmers. How is the Gate Grabber different from other products on the market? The Gate Grabber design offers a mechanical advantage over other products requiring only a single unit, even for extra heavy gates. The Gate Grabber requires very little rail space, which in turn leaves more space for other racks. Unlike other products on the market that require the user to pull against the spring when initially lowering the gate, the Gate Grabber provides an equal amount of assist when both raising and lowering the gate. Which brand sprayers fit in the SR-1? The SR-1 is a custom fit rack designed to hold Solo, Lesco, Echo and SP Systems, etc. type backpack sprayers that have a tubular metal frame such as the 425 Solo backpack sprayer. See our part # GP-1 for securing other type sprayers. What are the equipment covers made of? Our covers are manufactured using a polyester material which has a high tear strength and is highly UV resistant. Are the equipment covers waterproof? A completely waterproof cover would create condensation problems under the cover. Our covers are very water resistant, yet vapor permeable. Do the fuel tags come in Spanish? No, there is actually no need for any writing on the fuel ID tags because all you have to do is match the shape and/or color. Are all of your products lockable? All of products can be locked using a standard padlock or our part # LC-1 locking cable. (optional) Will the GP-1 hold any backpack blower or sprayer? To the best of our knowledge most every backpack blower or sprayer on the market will fit in the GP-1.
